Hi everyone,
I am back from a week in the Mecca that is Ballymaloe or “posh Irish college for foodies” as it was described by a family member. It was a wonderful experience, but exhausting in the best way possible. I would recommend a day or a week in a heartbeat if the longer courses aren’t an option. However, do ask to stay in the cottages beside the school. I stayed a five minute walk away in a more modern house and while there was nothing wrong with it, I would have preferred to stay in the quaint rooms beside the school.
There were new ingredients and recipes but my favorite takeaways are the tips around good old fashioned food. Here are a few that I think you might like:
