Hi everyone,
Is it just me, or is the promise of Spring in the air? As I peer out of my kitchen, I can see the birds starting to nest, tulips peeking their heads out of the soil and the arrival of treats such as forced rhubarb and blood oranges. The fresh energy in the air has excited me for new recipes. Firstly, the notion of a French bistro-style dish with slow-cooked lamb with forty cloves of garlic, pinto beans and cavolo nero served with a crusty baguette to mop up the juices. A dish that initially had me panicking that “there are no potatoes” with it, but after trusting my gut and testing the theory, I was right. It is delicious! The soft beans, tender meat and crusty bread bring the same level of comfort (if not more!) that a scoop of mash would bring.
ps - I got a flower frog and am slightly obsessed with making spring floral arrangements. Here is a link!
Here is what we are cooking this week:
-Slow Cooked Lamb with Garlic, Beans and Cavolo Nero
-Chicken Parmentier
-One Pot Pasta with Parma Ham, Peas and Rocket
-Tunisian Blood Orange Cake
For more inspo, here’s the six o’clock show playback of my Roast Pork with Romanesco which is ideal for a Sunday lunch followed by that delicious orange cake.
